8.0.0-alpha1
TopLogic Release
2026-03-31
TopLogic 8.0.0-alpha1 is the first pre-release of TopLogic 8.0. Its main themes are multi-factor authentication with self-service account management, JSON Schema for typed configurations and more flexible tables.
Security and access rights
- Multi-factor authentication – a TOTP second factor (authenticator apps) and one-time passwords sent by e-mail extend the login by a second step.
- Self-service account management – users reset their password and second factor themselves, without an administrator.
- Self-registration by invitation – external users register through invitation tokens.
- Hidden API keys – API keys in the configuration of REST interfaces are entered in a hidden token field.
- Tables respect permissions – rows changed or created in other sessions are no longer shown to users who may not see them.
- Reused contacts – an account that reuses an existing contact receives its permissions without a full security rebuild.
Configuration and operation
- JSON Schema – typed configurations can be described and validated by JSON Schema (2020-12), which simplifies exchange with external tools.
- Workflow updates – workflows delivered in
WEB-INF/workfloware updated automatically when a new application version ships changed files. - REST client – empty responses are accepted where JSON is expected.
Tables
- Filters for dynamic columns – a new option to override the default values gives dynamic columns the filter matching their attribute type, e.g. a number filter for
double. - Configurable personalization key – several views sharing one layout keep their own sorting.
- Column alignment – user-defined CSS classes can replace the default right alignment of numeric columns.
- Tree grid node predicate – the node predicate of the model builder receives the component model.
Bug fixes
- TL-Script:
format()withnull, functions returned by derived attributes, deleting several objects at once. - Forms: editable compositions, disabled drop-down fields, non-editable checkboxes reachable by tab.
- Model editor and component channels: editing derived attributes that became invalid, form data in value transformations.
- Other: scripted tests ("SafeHTML not started"), inline tables, help editor, sub-session page.
Migration
- Multi-factor authentication and self-service.
- Automatic workflow updates.
- Table rows from other sessions and accounts with reused contacts.
- Access to abstract attributes on transient objects now fails.
- I18N generation for custom resource keys in
I18NConstants; restart of the knowledge base.
Details are given in the migration section of the release notes below.
