8.0.0-alpha4
TopLogic Release
2026-05-21
TopLogic 8.0.0-alpha4 makes the presentation of business objects configurable without code and lets the change log focus on one object structure.
Model and presentation
- Label and tooltip annotations – two model annotations define the label and tooltip of a type's instances in the model editor, e.g. computed by TL-Script; previously this required a Java resource provider.
- Browser tab title – the title of the browser tab can be set dynamically through a component channel, e.g. from the selected object.
- Readable check failures – failed model checks are reported on saving as a validation message instead of an "internal error".
Change log and undo
- Subtree filter – the change log can be restricted to the composition tree of a root object.
- Undo and reset – single changes or chains of changes can be undone, a subtree can be reset to an earlier state, and undo/redo handlers can be provided for the UI.
Flow diagrams
- Sub-grid for large fan-outs – the tree layout arranges many children of a node in a two-dimensional sub-grid instead of a single column.
Bug fixes
- Persistence: missing type of the transient revisions.
- Flow diagrams: font metrics, texts overflowing their boxes.
- Model API: updates with attributes of a different type.
Migration
- Label and tooltip annotations.
- Java source encoding switched from ISO-8859-1 to UTF-8.
Details are given in the migration section of the release notes below.
