AI Agentic Migration

The sibling repository tl-ai (modules tl-ai-tool-api, tl-ai-core, tl-ai-mcp-server, tl-ai-a2a, tl-chat, tl-chat-classic, tl-ai-views, tl-ai-vector-index, tl-ai-index, tl-ai-index-onnx, tl-ai-eval, tl-ai-demo) is folded into the engine repository so that the AI modules are built, versioned and released with the engine.

Changes

The tl-ai history is merged into tl-engine (git merge --allow-unrelated-histories), so the version history of every file stays available in the engine repository. The module directories keep their names.
The modules get the engine parents (tl-parent-core-internal, the demo tl-parent-app-internal) and are registered in tl-parent-engine; the tl-ai-parent aggregator goes away.
The module version 2.1.x becomes the engine version (8.0.0-SNAPSHOT); the versions of the external dependencies move into the engine's dependency management.
The license headers change from LicenseRef-BOS-TopLogic-1.0 to the engine's dual license AGPL-3.0-only OR LicenseRef-BOS-TopLogic-1.0; the tl-license-professional dependency of tl-ai-core is dropped.
The tests of the modules live in packages mirroring the production code; the surefire regex includes of the former aggregator move into the module POMs.
The repository documentation (README.md, doc/) becomes developer articles under META-INF/tl-docs of tl-ai-core.
The vitest suite of the React chat (tl-chat/ui) follows the engine's test switches like surefire: it runs with -DskipTests=false, is skipped by default (deployments, plain mvn install), honours maven.test.failure.ignore, and writes a JUnit report into target/surefire-reports, so the CI build shows JS failures together with the Java ones. Its DOM tests poll for the state they assert (vi.waitFor) instead of sleeping a fixed time, so they are stable on a loaded CI node.
Jackson 3 (tools.jackson), which the MCP SDK brings in transitively, is managed in the engine's dependency management through its BOM (tools.jackson.version), so the AI modules ship a Jackson 3 release without known vulnerabilities instead of the SDK's pinned 3.0.3.

Migration

An application that depended on com.top-logic:tl-ai-* / tl-chat* in version 2.1.x now uses the engine version (${tl.version}); the artifact IDs are unchanged. The tl-ai repository is no longer developed.
