If you want to define a default provider for an attribute using tl:DefaultByExpression that makes a transactional change (e.g., creates a new object or generates an ID using nextId()) and “forgets” to hide the attribute in the creation dialog, the expression will also be executed when the form is generated and will fail. In any case, the expression is executed when you try to create a form for the type, because all attributes are always displayed there.

To avoid this error, you must be able to specify that the default calculation may only take place during the creation transaction.

Solution

Additional configuration option “In Transaction,” which allows execution to be delayed until the creation operation.

Test

Open the form editor for the DemoTypes:A type.
Verify that the idLong attribute is displayed there (see #26068).
