Enhancement
The existing API for progress dialogs is extremely cumbersome because it requires configuring a component. However, a progress dialog is typically intended to be displayed for a long-running operation that would otherwise be executed in a tl:CommandHandler and have no way to provide user feedback.
Enhancement
Programatically open Progress dialog comparable to tl:MessageBox:
#!java new ProgressDialog(I18NConstants.DOWNLOAD_SQL, px(400), px(300)) { @Override int getStepCnt() { return 10; } @Override public void run(I18NLog log) { // Background-task setProgress(step); log.info(...); } @Override public void handleCompleted(DisplayContext context) { // Completion again in UI thread. } }.open(displayContext);
Test
- In tl-demo in the view Technical Demo:Layout-Framework#1:Forms:Form Controls (inline) the button "progressCommand".
